Day 12-Sow a Seed
"If you have faith as small as a mustard seed..."
Matthew 17:20
"If we are going to understand the potential of faith, we have to understand the power of a seed. Jesus spoke of our faith in relation to a mustard seed, the smallest known garden seed in that culture. Like every seed, it needs to germinate, and this particular seed can take up to 10 days to germinate. Some plants like some dreams, take a lot longer. My dream of writing took 13 years to germinate. And some of my goals will take decades to accomplish! Faith is what keeps those dreams alive, even when it seems as though they are dead and buried. But that is the very nature of seeds. They disappear. And while it may seem like they are dead, they are not. They are just germinating beneath the surface...
"We cannot break the law of sowing and reaping any more than we cannot break the law of gravity. No farmer would plant beans and expect to harvest corn!
If you sow kindness, you will reap kindness.
If you sow generosity, you will reap generosity.
If you sow love, you will reap love."
Mark Batterson-Draw the Circle
I love the simplicity of this analogy. How does this apply to us as a program? Big picture, we need to stop "planting beans and expecting corn." Go through our Foundational Principles and ask yourselves-what we are reaping as a team? How can we change this mentality as a team?
