Kopion 2016

I love this idea idea of being obedient to the vision God has given us. You have a clear standard according to this statement. For the last 4 years, Kopion has been the vision and standard we are seeking as a team and program (1 Cor 15:58). Are we really ready to apply this to the 2012 season? Are we capable of playing to a Kopion standard for 45 minutes. For 90 minutes? For 21 games? We intentionally build our vision for this team upon the vision God has given us. This kind of obedience takes work. "60 seconds of every minute, and the 45 minutes of hour" kind of work. 

Guys, we have to approach the 2012 season with more intensity than ever. Bob Goff talks about how he approaches opportunities like this in his Go Buy Your Books chapter  -"I used to think God guided us by opening and closing doors, but now I know sometimes God wants us to kick some doors down.... I've always wondered if, when we want to do something that we know is right and good, God places that desire in our hearts because He wants it for us and it honors Him. Maybe there are times when we think a door has been closed and, instead of misinterpreting the circumstances, God wants us to kick it down. Or perhaps, just sit outside the door long enough until someone tells us we can come in." 

My hope and prayer is that you have prepared yourselves in a way that honors God's vision for this program and this season.I hope you are you ready to "kick down some doors". I believe with all my heart that we are going to do things that no other team has ever done here.

Trivia: Did you know that no team has repeated as Conference Champion since the 1988 team (24 years ago). It is time to make history.

Reminder about Paperwork: I need 100% response on your paperwork. I still have a number of you (you know who you are) that have not responded. I might need to add some conditioning for the whole team that have not either handed paper work in or let me know when it will be handed in. If you plan on being on the roster (JV or Varsity), you have to respond. 

Grassrootsoccer: Thanks to everyone who has helped so far. I am still looking for players/teams to participate. This event can only be a success if you are getting out of your comfort zone to get some of your friends, other CU students, church, etc involved . You need to register no later than August 10th so that we can make sure our brackets are complete.  Remember that you can't play unless you are registered. We will be playing barefoot!

Night of Nets: Same thing, we need 100% of program involved. Get your friends, family, church, and community to be part of things. This is a life changing event.
