The Right Person:
“You must have pride in playing for this team, program and institution. No matter how talented you are, you first have to be a good teammate with a spirit of sacrifice, discipline, trust and respect. Absent these qualities, you can’t play for this program. Zero bad apples. We won’t burden the right people with the wrong people for any reason.”

-Dave Brandt-Messiah/Naval Academy Head Coach

“Everyone has a plan until they get punched in the mouth.”

-Mike Tyson

As we get ready for the 2013 season, we need to ask ourselves this question-“Am I the Right Person for this program?

In One Life, Scot McKnight writes, “Jesus offers to us a kingdom dream that can transform us to the very core of our being. His vision is so big we are called to give our entire lives to it. His vision is so big it swallows up our dreams.” What would the Kingdom look like if we had a different vision than what Jesus had in mind? What would our team look like if we all came in to our season with a different vision? We all need to have a clear understanding of what the vision looks. This is not an easy task. It is not something that just happens. It takes work, a lot of hard work. It can only happen when we commit our "One.Life" to being a follower of Jesus-a real one. It takes sacrifice, discipline, trust and respect because when you go through something difficult, it always goes back to the vision.

Thursday: 120’s Test-Report Average of 10 runs

120’s are designed to measure a player’s ability to run longer distances. The player starts at one end of the field and must sprint to the other end. At the end, the player has the remainder of the minute to rest. The rest involves a run back to starting point. For example, if a player runs the 120 in 20 seconds, they will have 40 seconds to jog back to start line.

Goal = 10 consecutive sets all completed in under 1 minute.
