“I used to be afraid that if I was authentic I might take a hit,
but now I know that being real means I will take a hit.”
Bob Goff-Love Does

Servant Leadership: “Servant Leadership flows from the love leaders have for their people. Leaders can’t truly serve people they don’t love. They may perform acts of service but their followers will rightly perceive their actions as insincere and manipulative unless they are done because of genuine concern…When leaders are not afraid to roll up their sleeves and serve people, they create a culture in which people willingly serve one another. Servanthood breaks down barriers and eliminates turf wars among team members.”    Thoughts from Henry Blackaby’s Spiritual Leadership (Chapt 7)

I like how Scot McKnight describes the kingdom that Jesus envisioned in the Chapter on Kingdom.Life. “Jesus envisioned a society characterized by ubuntu (see definition on pages 32-33), and he envisioned God’s people living before God and with others in a way that embodied the will of God in a new kind of society. Thus,

Kingdom is an interconnected society;
Kingdom is a society noted by caring for others;
Kingdom is a society shaped by justice;
Kingdom is a society empowered by love;
Kingdom is a society dwelling in peace;
Kingdom is flowing with wisdom;
Kingdom is a society that knows its history;
Kingdom is a society living out its memory;
Kingdom is a society that values society;
Kingdom is a society that cares about its future.”

What kind team would we have if this described our locker room and our actions on and off the field? I want a roster of guys that seek to be this kind of team.
